How to get to Carvoeiro
Carvoeiro is located approx 55 kms west of Faro International airport, the nearest airport to Carvoeiro approx a 40 minute drive.
Getting to Carvoeiro by Air from the UK
Faro Airport (FAO) is the nearest airport to Carvoeiro and is approx 40 min drive to Carvoeiro and the villa.
The next 2 nearest airports are Lisbon International airport (LIS) approx 260km away and 2 hours 10 mins driving and Seville airport (SVQ) in Spain approx 240km and 2 hours driving (Note it can be expensive to get carhire from Spain and drop off in Portugal).
British Airways, Ryanair and Easyjet fly to all 3 airports from the UK.
Other airlines fly from the UK to faro including British Airways, EasyJet, Ryanair, Monarch, Thomson Airways and Norwegian.

Car Hire
While a car is not essential but in the off peak months it is often more economically to hire a car than getting transfers from the airport and as there are many wonderful secluded beaches and coves along the Algarve coastline and so much to see and do, hiring a car is a good option when the weather is cooler. Airport Transfer
If you wish to transfer from the airport using one of the shuttle bus companies you have 2 options a shared transfer this is useful if travelling solo or 2 travelling the other option is a private transfer from the airport. Some sites that we use are:

How to get to Carvoeiro by Train
The nearest train stations to Carvoeiro is Estombar or Portimao. If travelling from Lisbon the nearest station is Tunes, you can change here for a train to Portimao. Portimao is a city and easier to get a taxi to Carvoeiro approx 10 to 15 min drive. If taking the train to Lisbon it is best to book tickets in advance at www.cp.pt
Travelling to/from Lisbon by bus / coach.
There area number of public buses each day that travel from Lagoa to Lisbon. This link gives a lot of information on times etc..

Lagoa bus station is approx 4 to 5kms from Carvoeiro and the villa so a taxi is a good option for getting to Lagoa bus station.
Travelling to Seville by bus / coach
